Makt is designed to be private by default. It is a local-first app: your training data stays on your device, and we — Amico Labs Ltd (“Amico”, “we” or “us”) — do not collect it, receive it, or store it on our servers. This policy explains, in plain terms, what that means.
Everything you record in Makt — workouts, sets and reps, exercises, templates, programs, body measurements, personal records and app settings — is stored locally on your device. This data stays under your control. You can delete it at any time from within the app, or by deleting the app, and you can export your entire history as a JSON file to keep a copy or move it elsewhere.
When iCloud backup is on, Makt uses Apple's CloudKit to store a backup of your training data in the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account. It is a backup, not sync: a workout logged on one device does not appear on another by itself. The backup runs automatically, shortly after you finish training. It is transmitted and stored under Apple's encryption and privacy protections, is not accessible to Amico, and we never see it. iCloud backup is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn it off at any time.
Makt can, with your explicit permission, read from and write workout information to Apple Health. This exchange happens on your device between Makt and the Health app; Health data is not sent to Amico. You can review or revoke Makt's Health permissions at any time in the Health app or in Settings. If you never grant permission, no Health data is accessed.
Makt Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we do not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple provides us only with aggregate, non-identifying sales and subscription reports. Your purchases are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
The only information that leaves your device to reach Amico is what you choose to send us — for example, if you email our support or feedback addresses (support@amico.software, bugs.makt@amico.software or feature.makt@amico.software). We use the contents of those messages only to respond to you and to improve the app, and we do not use them for advertising or share them for unrelated purposes.
Because your training data lives on your own device (and, if iCloud backup is on, in your own private iCloud), you are already in direct control of it. You can view, edit, export or delete it at any time from within Makt, or remove it entirely by deleting the app. We do not hold a copy, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or erase on your behalf.
The only personal data Amico itself processes is the content of any message you choose to send us and the email address you send it from. We process this on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to you and improving Makt, and we keep it only as long as needed for that purpose — normally no more than 24 months after your query is resolved — unless a longer period is required by law.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have rights under the UK GDPR and the GDPR in relation to that data, including the right to access it, to have it corrected or erased, and to restrict or object to its processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@amico.software. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), or the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
If you are a California resident, please note that we do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Because Makt has no tracking and no advertising, there is nothing to opt out of.
Makt does not track you across apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Because we do not track you, no App Tracking Transparency prompt is needed.
Makt is a general-audience fitness app and is not directed at children. Because we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app or its App Store listing.
